Primitive Towels & Shoo-flys

So here's a peek at some other items I'll be offering at my selling blog.

(I apologize for constantly pushing back the opening date, but things have been hectic with doctor appts. with myself and my hubby and I need to make more crafts!! LOL!! I go on vacation mid-September and feel it best to open up the shop upon my return.)

Here I have 2 dishclothes tied up with jute, a rusty bell and prim aged hang tag. Also a dishtowel with a prim stitchery I did.

These will be offered on my selling blog in different colors and different sayings on the hang tags & stitcheries.

I actually made these for a Give-A-Way at Crow's Creek Primitives Primitive Gathering Forum Stay tuned for a link to the Give-A-Way to be posted via a graphic here on my blog!

Here is a small size grubby and grungy shoo-fly I did up. This particular one was done for a prim forum swap. I will be offering both this size and a larger size. Hang Tags will read different things, as you can see this one reads "Farm Life".

Rusty Tin Candle

I wanted to share a candle I made for a Prim Swap I was part of. This is a recycled, old, rusty can that has Pink Aquolina Sugar as the scent.

The picture is of 3 ladies is their near knee-length swimsuits and the quote I found to go with it reads: "We swim because we are too sexy for a sport that requires clothes - Author UnKnown"

I will be selling a candle similar to this when I open this shop this month!

I've Returned Home!

2 weeks ago we did the 5.5 hour drive from Salt Lake City, Utah....back to our home we left 2 years ago, in Boise, Idaho!

We are so thrilled to be back! Jim is healthy and doing great since his heart transplant that took place in Salt Lake on July 12, 2009.

Next week on Thursday we travel to Chicago to visit with family, we haven't been back to our home towns in Illinois in 3 years!

Then after coming back from that week long trip I will start primming and crafting to get ready to open my blog shop ShabbyKay Primitive's Sundries 'n Such sometime in May!

yay!!!

Another Peek At Future Products

Just a couple more pics of examples of the fun, grubby, primitive candles I make that I will be selling on this blog when it officially opens for selling sometime in May.

My candles will come wicked or unwicked and will come in a variety of yummy prim scents you can choose from! The best, my candles are made from all recycled jars!

This first candle is grunged up with yummy nutmeg. The lid has been painted red and also has prim nutmeg added to it. The picture is of a little boy and girl in their best 4th Of July outfits. The little girl holds an American Flag. The quote I chose is "She's My Yankee Doodle Joy". A rusty wire decorated with rusty bells is wrapped around the candle jar's neck.

The 2nd candle shows an aged, poor depression era black couple. I think the pic sums everything up enough, so felt no quote needed for this particular candle. What a historical, touching picture. This candle jar lid was painted yellow and both the lid and jar nicely grunged up with a mixture of spices. I wrapped some tea-stained cheesecloth around the jar's neck and added rusty safety pins and bells.

Here is a breakdown of each Prim item in the Give A Way!!

The bag of my homemade tarts are in the scent of Banana Nut Bread! So delicious!! They are in a muffin shape and drizzled with white 'frosting' then sprinkled with real cinnamon! The tarts come in my signature ShabbyKAT bag with cute paw prints!

2 grunged up battery votives! I have grubbied these up with cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves! They look great in the dark!!

These hang tags have been primmed up with my coffee, vanilla and cinnamon mixture then baked!
The first tag is a depression era family, one of my favorite primitive subjects! They are standing outside their wooden shack that is propped on top of their vehicle.
The 2nd tag the winner will get is of an adorable little boy in a washtub being carefully watched over by his dad. The tag is outlined in prim X's and dots.

The grubby jar candles I make are all from recycled jars. I incorporate vintage photos and phrases then put the jar through a massive grunging process!

This jar candle is a small 6 oz jar & shows a cute black boy eating a piece of yummy watermelon. The quote reads: "Watermelon - It's a good fruit. You eat, you drink, you wash your face". The scent is Apple Jack 'n Peel....so good!!!

The candle has tea stained muslin wrapped around it with some rusty 'ol pins & a bell!

***PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A WICKLESS CANDLE....NO BURNING INVOLVED. FOR WICKLESS CANDLES (they are truly my favorite kind of candles!) YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE A SIMILAR TYPE OF BURNER AS ONE OF THE FOLLOWING.

Okie-dokie! Here is what the winner of this Give-A-Way will get, hope you will enjoy!

There are tarts, a candle, battery votives and 2 old grungy hang tags!

The bag of my homemade tarts are in the scent of Orange Chiffon Cake! Oh yummo!! They look like the little orange rolls you bake in the oven and are drizzled with frosting! They are even sprinkled with a bit of cinnamon! The tarts come in my signature ShabbyKAT bag with cute paw prints!

2 grunged up battery votives! I have grubbied these up with cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves! They look great in the dark:

These hang tags have been primmed up with my coffee, vanilla and cinnamon mixture then baked! The first tag is a depression era family, these pictures are truly intriguing to me! It is framed with some prim "X's". The 2nd tag the winner will get is an old lady with a tiny boy who is in a wash basin....so cute! The tag reads "Live Simply"

The grubby jar candles I make are all from recycled jars. I incorporate vintage photos and phrases then put the jar through a massive grunging process! This jar shows 2 men standing outside an old grocery store. The quote below it is from comedian Steven Wright and reads: "I went to a general store, but they wouldn't let me buy anything specific". The candle has red and white gingham wrapped around it with some rusty 'ol bells! The candle lid has been painted black and doused with spices!

I keep the wick in a curly state which I think is so cute! Oh! The best part....the scent is Nutmeg Vanilla....this is soooooooooooooo yummy!! Definitely one of my faves!

Thanks for joining in!!
